Stars in Bulgari

Why not a GLAM, GLAM night out on the town? The Berlinale has rolled into the city. Stars, filmmakers, celebrities descend on the capital for work and fun.

Luxury brand BVLGARI’s annual party is always a high point on the festival nightlife calendar. This year at The Secret Garden, an old theater in the Mitte District, the atmosphere felt electric, a good time for all. Many female attendees used the occasion to show off their Bvlgari bags while checking out the room. The chit chat centers around cinema and the offerings of the festival. Get togethers like this are occasions to meet new contacts but also a ways to renew old ones, a moment to catch up.

Never argue with an event that continues to serve Moet Chandon Champagne is my policy. If a bartender offers to pour,  have good manners to say “yes”.

Berlinale Luxury

Luxury watch maker Glashutte Original is known for its quality time pieces. This year the German brand introduces  a special collection at the 68th Berlinale: Senator Chronographs: The Capital Edition.  Producing only 130, 100 stainless steel, 25 red gold, and 5 platinum versions, each series is a reflection of masculinity, style, and elegance for the man on the go in the big city.

Based in Saxony, Glashutte Original equips it pieces with the brand’s three quarter plate and skeleton rotor.  Each creation has a 4 Herz automatic movement and colum wheel mechanism, 21 carat gold oscillating mass and sapphire crystal case back.

Don’t Walk, Look Fabulous!

Indulgence can be a good thing.  These boots are not meant for walking but for looking FABULOUS!  While in Paris I walked past the Chanel Boutique, saw them in window and said, “WOW!”

London Fashion Week Mens Dunhill

Dunhill, the epitome of British menswear, continued the brand’s tradition of classic tailoring.  Refinement is the word I would use to describe a collection that stayed within all the boundaries. New Creative Director Mark Weston has inherited a brand a strong identity but there was a need to make it more modern.  He did not add any new twists but instead veered to the safe side.  I cannot blame him.   Luxury is about small details that people in the know would recognize.

Casualwear, jackets and other outerwear were on display, some with cashmere and luxury fabrics. The leather goods were traditionally masculine, and modern.   There was a patterned bag that was less about being flashy but trying to have a bit of a contemporary edge.

It is going to be interesting to see where Dunhill goes in the future.
