Milan Fashion Week Menswear-Canali

Black and Paper review from Milan Fashion Week Men of the Canali Spring Collection.

Soft, sleek, and clean are the words that come to mind. Introducing a new fabric “Impeccabile 2.0” a material is light combined with a level of weather versatility.    The silhouettes were vertical produced with fine tailored details.  A collection that was based on luxurious elements with minimal qualities, the Canali team lacks a creative director but this did not stop the brand from creating wonderful garments, the collection was both casual and semi-formal.  I especially liked the suits because of the youthful yet sophisticated qualities.

Milan Fashion Week Milan with Edhen

Black and Paper attended the Edhen Presentation at Milan Fashion Week Men.

Sensual is how I would describe Edhen.  For those of you searching for the new “It” men’s shoe this brand could be the one.  The collections are the right balance of adventurous, being chic with the right touches of classic Italian detail with lush fabrics and leathers footwear.  This season there is an emphasis on the light and breezy shoes made of soft, very refined materials.  The Mules were fun but my favorite pair are the Brera’s in blue.

I have the impression these designers will go far, fast.

Marni from Milan Fashion Week Men’s

Black and Paper paid a visit to the Marni Showroom during Milan Fashion for re-see.  The brand received acclaim for this season’s collection titled “Lost and Found”, a journey of self-discovery is how the press release describes the collection.  The vintage feel of the pieces were refreshing, like going through the grandfathers closet looking for pieces to mix and match with you have on today.  All was loose, oversized, playful and at times pieced together.  Designer Francesco Risso kept it casual.  Clerk pants, jackets, suits, were showy but not over the too, and very wearable.  Would I buy it? YES!

Milan Fashion Week-Looks from Luca Larenza

During Milan Fashion Week Milan Menswear I attended the Luca Larenza presentation.  My verdict?  I liked it  The collection was centered on knitwear along with a print look wide stripes. The designer had classic touches mixed youthful and modern twists.

Milan Fashion Week Men-Edhen

Italian based shoe designer Edhen takes sensual to the next level this collection.  The sparkles of details mixed with the classic is what I loved.  A man can express a lot without saying a word wearing these shoes.

Milan Fashion Week Men Ferutdin Zakirov

Lux Style is the term I would use to describe menswear brand Ferutdin Zakirov.  Heavy on looks based on leather and fur.  I was impressed with the detail and quality of the items.  Being a new label I expected a few mistakes, gladly I found none, but the attention to quality was apparent.  The snake skin leather jacket was highlight.  The looks were first class casual wear for the man who does not want to dress up but wants to be noticed for his rich style.

Milan Fashion Week Men Cifonelli

Cifonelli looks were based on military and the sophisticated dandy influences with tailored winter looks that hugged the body.  The aesthetic of the brand is based upon a man with privilege and fantastic taste.  The silhouettes are about strong masculinity.  The two looks that stood out to me were the Tiger print jacket and the trimmed outerwear long coat.  Both were splendid.  The collection is not for the office but more for night on the town.

Milan Fashion Week Men Ermanno Scervino

The always stylish designer used a variety of gentlemen classic dandy materials consisting of tweed and hounds tooth, for his Fall 2017 Collection.  Using thick rich wool Mr. Scervino’s masculine looks were soft, functional, and all very wearable, I especially liked the knitwear.
